Qigong with Michael

  • Northwest Stark Senior Center 853 Locust Street Canal Fulton, OH, 44614 United States (map)

Qigong, pronounced “chi gong” was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. Qigong translates to Qi = life force energy; Gong = practice or skill development.  So, Qigong is the practice of working with energy.

Qigong involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Qigong has both psychological and physical components and involves the regulation of the mind, breath, and body’s movement and posture.

Qigong techniques primarily focus on gently flowing standing movements, especially connected movements of the whole body, arms, and legs.

The Chinese art of Qigong is a meditative exercise that helps to develop balance physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually by paying attention to grounding – the concept of being fully connected to the Earth for this relaxing and energizing experience.

Conscious movement helps to activate and circulate your chi – your energy. Stuck energy causes blockages and stress in mind and body, including physical ailments. Release this stuck energy with easy Qigong movements.
